Candle & Tea Light Holder Information

CANDLE CARE

Taking care of your candle will ensure you get the best burn and longest life from it.

Initial Burn: The first time you light your candle, allow it burn long enough for the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the vessel. This will help prevent tunnelling.

Wick Maintenance: Trim the wick before each lighting to around 1/4 inch (5-6mm). This will control the flame size, reduce smoke, and prevent soot buildup on the vessel. An evenly burned candle will last longer.

Safety and Overheating: Keep your candle away from drafts, fans, pets and children. Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials such as curtains. Never leave a burning candle unattended and do not burn for more than 4 hours to prevent overheating.

Extinguishing: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish candles. This avoids hot wax splatter and smoke. Never use water to extinguish a candle.

Storage: When not in use store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will prevent discolouration and/or damage to the fragrance. Use the cover (if your candle comes with one) to keep it dust-free.

Cleaning: Do not leave debris such as wick trimmings or match tips in the candle. If your candle is in a glass vessel and there is soot buildup, after the candle is cooled this can be cleaned with a damp cloth or paper towel to keep it looking fresh.

Decorative tea light holders and enclosed houses will become VERY hot when in use.

Never attempt to move the holder with a lit candle.

Allow to cool down after extinguishing the candle before moving the holder.

Tea lights should be burned for no more than 1-2 hours at a time.
