A collectible Royal Doulton Character Jug 'Drake', made in England, c.1940s.
Modelled on Sir Francis Drake (1540–1596), an English explorer and admiral. Drake was the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe. Designed by Harry Fenton and introduced in 1940.
Number D6174, with 'A' mark, indicating early production.
